Diagnostics and warning lights

A warning light on the dash means the car has logged a fault. The team reads it with a diagnostic scan tool, finds the cause, and explains it in plain English before anything is replaced.

Good to know

A code points at a symptom, not always the cause. A fault for a sensor can be the sensor, the wiring or something upstream, so the scan is the start of the diagnosis, not the end.

If the engine light is flashing, pull over and call. A flashing light can mean a misfire that will damage the catalytic converter if you keep driving.

Common questions

Do you really come to me?

Yes. Autocheck WA is a mobile mechanic. The tools, the scan gear and the parts travel in the van to your home, your workplace, a car park or a worksite. You do not drop the car anywhere.

Can everything be fixed on the spot?

Most servicing, brake, battery and diagnostic work is finished in the one visit. If a part has to be ordered, you hear the options before anything happens and the mechanic comes back to fit it at a time that suits you.
